A note on sensory living
Some of us feel the world a little more loudly than others. For many, that comes from living with ASC, ADHD, PDA, trauma or a long season of stress.
For others it is simply a tired body in a busy house that can not find rest. Whatever the reason, your home can learn to work with how you sense the world rather than against it.
You’ll find some guides and blogs created especially for those families within the library.
Wax & Wane is a place to slow down for a while and look at your home and routines from a fresh perspective.
A home is something that we steward, not own. It has its own rhythms and quirks just like the family it holds.
This isn’t mindfulness, or about buying an extra candle or blanket - though they can be heavenly.
This is about a holistic understanding that when designed for the way you live and the people it holds, home can be a place that gives you life back. Slowly, intentionally, your home can work with your senses to rejuvenate, restore and revive you. The answers are often found in the small, ordinary things and during the rhythm of your days.
Wax & Wane Interiors considers all eight of our senses in how we look at our homes, understanding that every single one of us senses the world differently, and that for some of us, those senses are turned up a little higher and our home demands more of us.
When our senses find rest, rejuvenation and regulation from the design and rhythms of our home, rest comes more easily, allowing you to have more patience, energy and grace with the people you love.
